Burgers and fries, the classic American meal. There is something so simple about a meal of burger and fries. But, when there is a restaurant that really cares and steps up their food game, you taste buds will be amazed!
There are a lot of burger places throughout the Metro Detroit area. Some are just plain horrible while many are OK. Finding that “too die for” burger has never been an easy task to accomplish. There is a burger place that is not new to the area but is new to me right down the freeway in Dearborn called Famous Hamburger, and it is very aptly named!
Famous Hamburger started as a small restaurant overseas by the owners Grandfather. It was all his ideas, passion, and the original recipe that caused quite a stir when he opened his first restaurant. This gentleman was very well liked and known to many as the “Hamburger Guy” and after one glance at the menu I can see why. After opening their first restaurant in Dearborn in the late 1990’s, they have taken the original recipe and stepped it up with new flavors and a gourmet touch.
This was one of the most vast and unique menus I have seen in a long time. You can have whatever kind of burger your heart desires at Famous Hamburger. There are the classics, spicy, cheese filled, chicken, vegetarian, and everything in between. You have you have two fry options: regular and sweet potato so you there is a new combination waiting each time you dine. There are fun appetizers, deluxe salads, and fabulous shakes to add flare to your meal. Famous Hamburger is also a good choice for gluten free buns and options to cover food allergies.
My meal from Famous Hamburger was amazing. It was one of the best “chicken” burgers I have ever had. I choose the original fries to keep it more traditional and a large, creamy vanilla shake to go with it. The whole meal could not be beat. The chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked while the fries were hot and crispy. The shake was thick but still drinkable through a straw. The appetizers are a great way to start you meal, we tried the nachos and mac and cheese bites, yum! They are tasty but filling so go hungry. They even take classic salads and give it their own little spin (and a large size).
So if you are looking for a better than average burger and fry meal take the time to head down to Dearborn and take their menu for a test drive. I can almost guarantee you will be back sooner than later. Check out their website for my meal inspirations here.
