Motherhood.

It’s not an easy thing. Sure, as a mom we love being there and having our kids around but in 3.5 seconds that can all change. Kids are notorious for pushing buttons and boundaries, but we still love them.

Even at their worst.

I love my kids but they do know how to push my buttons. I get frustrated, annoyed, and down right angry at times. As most moms do. But then there are those occasions where the situation you find yourself in seems so in left field that it has to happen to only you right?

Most likely not!

No matter what is going on in our daily lives, there is a high chance, probably 99.9% that another mom has experienced the same thing. And FX is here to show you that you are not alone with their new show Better Things.

Better Things is your modern single mom story following Sam Fox, a frazzled but dedicated and loving mother as she raises her three girls. If having three girls to deal with is not enough, she is trying to help her mother, have a social life, and just maybe a relationship along the way. The show is edgy, real, and explores many day to day issues of being a mom and raising kids. Today’s world can be confusing and scary and Sam helps her daughters and in turn the viewers to navigate this world. In many ways its like looking at what I have to look forward to as my kids get older.

Intrigued yet? Better Things is a must watch for all parents, especially on those days where life just seems a little out of hand. Better Things  airs Thursday nights at 10pm on FX or you can watch episodes online here.

As an added bonus, I have an easy to enter giveaway for you to win a swag bag from Better Things. The swag bag includes a Baggu clutch filled with daily essentials like mints, lip balm, and a few other goodies, a Chipolo wireless tracking device for those lost keys, phone, purse, and a super soft pillow that can be used to scream into when the frustrations get to be too much.

  • This looks like such an awesome show. I love that it seems relateable and funny. I can relate to the pillow pick scene.

  • I like this tone already, not watched yet but I just scheduled it in – I love Sam’s approach to life and knowing that she needs “me time”

  • The show has a keen, charming grasp of the way parent-child relationships can sometimes fluctuate between screaming and hugging with no transition in between, and some of the most effective Better Things moments are brief cutaways to quiet times amidst the fighting, or vice versa.

  • The world needs more shows that demonstrate the challenge of parenting. We need real life stories, not fluffy sitcoms. This provides it.

  • I can’t get enough of this show! I adore her humor. Not fond of how she always handles her daughters, but the love feels real. Love it!

  • Thanks everyone for your awesome comments! Everyone of them are spot on for this show =). I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. Random.org gave me a number of 10 for the winner, congrats Erin J. I have sent you an email.
