Detroit is such an iconic city. The history and architecture is unique and quite a sight to see. However, most of us miss all the beauty of the city because we are too busy driving around or going to one specific location. There is so much to see and do in Detroit and unless you know the city well you are probably missing out on a few things.
How about a slower paced tour of Detroit that allows you time to see the sights and sounds of the city? Did you know hat you can do just that!
If you have been to city in the last year there is a good chance you have seen these carts of people pedaling Howe way down the street. Your eyes did not decide you, these are pedal cars and there are people on them! Let me introduce you to HandleBar Detroit.
HandleBar Detroit is a set of two Amsterdam built pedal cars that take you and your friends on a slower paced tour of Detroit with bar stops. HandleBar is owned and operated by two brothers who learned about the company and duplicated the Amsterdam company right here in the city.
Each pedal car seats up to 16 but 15 is more ideal. Overall I enjoyed the pedal car a lot but there are a few warnings I have for you. Only one side of the pedal car has adjustable seats so your group should have a nice mix or short and tall. Your pedaling is the only power so everyone that can should be pedaling. The car is also quite high off the ground so caution should be taken while riding and I would not suggest drinking too much at the bars and riding.
A tour around Detroit on a pedal car is a great night out for a group and a unique way to see the city. I say get a group together and head out for some Detroit touring and fun.
