The holidays are quickly approaching and as we prepare for all the excitement, it is so important to take time with our family. For me, it is such a busy time with get-togethers, shopping, wrapping, and prepping that I tend to let time with my kids slip by me. One of our favorite ways to come together is around food and movies. I mean, who does not love a good holiday treat.

And who does not love a good movie! We love catching all the new movies that come out, its a treat for the kids and a fun time but break for us. Everyone is quite and tuned in to what is happening on the screen. This holiday season, the new movie SING© is coming to theaters (December 21, 2016) and it looks like so much fun. Have you heard of it? Well, if not, SING© is a music competition between some really talented animals , reminiscent of the reality shows we have now. It look super cute and like a good all around movie for the family.Honeycomb Cereal

But, while you wait for SING© to come to theaters, I want to help you prepare with a little sweet Honeycomb® treat that is perfect for family moments and is inspired by the movie SING©. These are my Honeycomb® pops and while I made these ones into microphones in honor of the movie, you can create all types of holiday designs to enjoy with your family.microphone-honeycomb-pops

Honeycomb® Pops

  • 3 1/2 Cups Honeycomb® Cereal
  • 2 16oz Vanilla Frosting Containers
  • Food Coloring of Choice for Honeycomb® Pop Design~Black and Blue for the Microphones
  • Sprinkles and other decorations

  1. Grind Honeycomb® cereal in a small food processor until reduced to large crumbs.
  2. Mix crumbles with one can of vanilla frosting. Mixture should be thoroughly mixed and sticky. If frosting seems to difficult to mix, soften by microwaving for 10 seconds.
  3. One a cookie tray covered in parchment paper, create your Honeycomb® Pop design of choice. Bigger designs stay together better.
  4. Place cookie tray in refrigerator for 10 minutes to harden,
  5. While the pops harden, separate the second container of frosting into as bowls, one each for every color of your design.
  6. Take your first bowl, microwave 10-15 seconds depending on microwave to soften frosting, its easier to work with when runny. Add 3-4 drop of food coloring or enough for desired color, and either dip or use a large spoon to cover pops.
  7. Place cookie sheet back into the fridge for 10 minutes.
  8. Proceed as above with the next color, cooling in between. Repeat as many times as needed for all colors.
  9. Add sprinkles or other decorations at the end, while at least one frosting color is still warm.
  10. After a final cool down, remove from refrigerator and remove from parchment paper. Place on plate and serve.
  11. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator to preserve your artwork.

Yummy right? My kids are in love with these treats. I already have requests for wreaths and trees for Christmas. I hope you like them as much as we do.Honeycomb Cereal at Target
