Have you ever had one of those days where it’s midafternoon, you are sitting at your desk/in your car/on the couch, and all you can think of is having a crunchy snack? I hate to admit how often this happens to me and 8/10 the snack that I am dreaming about is crunchy and flavorful. There is just something so satisfying about the crunch that comes with a handful of chips.

But what if you are trying to be healthier in your food choices? Potato chips, while tasty, offer very little in the way of nutritional value and usually have a bunch of added ingredients that deter being healthy. Ever since I made the commitment to be eat healthier, I have shied away from most chips and just pushed my cravings aside. Let me tell you that pushing my craving aside usually led to binge eating an entire bag of some nacho flavored chips later on. Bad idea!

In my search for the perfect chip, I have come across a few that could be contenders but never quite what I was looking for. I needed something that tasted good, satisfied the crunch desire, did not have a ton of extra ingredients, and above all the entire family would like them.

It was after a few potential fails that I was introduced to Lundberg Farms Grounded Snacks. Lundberg Farms had a new snack on the market that was a twist on traditional tortilla chips: they were made of Red Rice and Quinoa. What an interesting combination! I could not wait to dig in and to say the snacks arrived at the perfect time may be an understatement.

We dug right in and much to my surprise, my family loved them! We went through the whole bag of the Ancho-Chile flavor that I could not even capture the moment. Even the littles loved them. It seemed too good to be true but Lundberg Farms had just met all my requirements for a new chip!

The Red Rice and Quinoa tortilla chips come in 5 flavors: Ancho-Chile, Cinnamon Sugar, Aged White Cheddar, French Onion, and Pink Himalayan Salt. Each chip is full of flavor and overall they are organic, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and non-GMO. The crunch lasts forever (thank you children for leaving a bag open for who knows how long when you snuck a few chips). The Red Rice and Quinoa chips are sure to be filling as they are denser than traditional chips, meaning you can get away with eating a few less chips if you wanted too.

As good as these chips are on their own, because they are a denser chip, they make a great dipping chip! The bold flavors add an extra dimension to chip dips, like the Chipotle Goat Cheese dip here, and they do not break while dipping like traditional chips. They truly are a multi-purpose chip! I have been so happy with these chips: they are healthier, have good flavors, are filling and crunchy and loved by my entire family. They have become my new go-to snacks.

Head over to the Lundberg Farms website to learn more or find a local store that carries them and enjoy the next time you get that crunch craving.
