With 4am mornings and late nights and constant running with the kids, I live on coffee. The constant on the go need a big jolt before I can even get out the door is not a lifestyle one really by choice but necessity to keep my family going and on the schedule we need to be. Being a working mom with two little ones and a pre-teen is demanding no matter how you look at. Mornings in particular are rough, I am definitely one of those “Don’t Talk To Me Until I Have Had My Coffee” morning people. For me that usually means getting up even earlier so that I can have a cup before the little ones get up.
Even the most put together person probably just has more coffee than everyone else. Not only do I live by it but honestly I like the taste and the warmth of a good cup of coffee as much as I need the caffeine jolt that comes with it. The key to it all is a good cup of coffee. The better the roast and preparation, the smoother the coffee and the more enjoyable it is. Good coffee does not necessarily a main stream brand either. And as a bonus, one of the best gifts I can get is a good cup of coffee.
A good cup of coffee is only as good as the roast. When a company cares enough to put the effort into your coffee you can get through any morning or rough day. I want my coffee to warm my soul and awaken my mind. That’s where H.C Valentine and Royal Cup coffee comes in. Both of these coffee brands are new to me before trying them here and I love the fact that they are not name brand.
The H.C. Valentine Royal 150 Blend is a medium bodied roast that has a hint of sweetness to it. The coffee is smooth and a good middle of the road coffee if you don’t want to go to much in either direction (light or dark). The Royal 150 Blend has a nice smooth finish and I even enjoyed it without creamer or sugar which is saying a lot for me. The company says it’s the perfect blend for dessert and I would have to agree. If you want a little sweeter coffee than adding just a bit of sugar boosted those already sweet notes.
Right along side the Royal 150 Blend is the Royal Cup French Roast and Kenya Estate. Both are darker roasts which is where my heart tends to lie when it comes to coffee. The French Roast was full bodied and smooth. It was a very tasty easy to drink coffee. However, the Kenya Estate was my favorite. It was the smoothest coffee with the most unique taste I have ever had. The French Roast is more of a well known roast that does not stray far from what we know but the Kenya Estate that is grown on the side of a mountain is unique and thrilling. The Kenya Estate is one of those coffee that can not be found anywhere else. If you are looking for a unique blend this is one to try.
Do I have your interest yet? Well, I want you to know that a very good cup of coffee that is not mainstream is right at your fingertips. Check out H.C. Valentine and their coffee blends here and Royal Cup and their coffee here. You will not be disappointed. This is also a great gift idea, especially for the mom or wife in your life who could use a good pick me up in the morning.
